Have a Vacation for the Sake of Global Warming

Oh, well, I forgot to mention, you have to be a US Senator in order to take a luxury vacation in the name of Global Warming.  Otherwise, you just have to pay for theirs, with your tax dollars.  Did your family take a luxury vacation this year?  I know mine didn’t.  But my taxes sure as heck went up. I recently saw the expense reports filed by those in congerss who tagged along for the ride to the

Copenhagen Climate Summit in Denmark and how much it cost taxpayers. The reports official filings indicate that at least 106 people from the House and Senate attended – spouses, a doctor, a protocol expert and even a photographer. For the 21 Congressmen (over 3/4 of whom were Democrats), the bill for room at board for just two days and nights cost $4,406 tax dollars.  Per Person. That’s $2,200 a day – more than most of us spend on our mortgage payments each month! The group’s expense report was filed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. although she refused to comment when asked.  I  have to wonder how on Earth they think they can negotiate an international climate treaty, when they can’t figure out how to get a hotel room for less than $2000/night! The total bill for the hotel alone, which included some meeting rooms and “a couple” of $1,000-a-night hospitality suites was more than $400,000.   And for what?  A conference designed to further propogate the myth of global warming.  Oh yeah, and did I mention the flights?  No real bargain there, either.  $5-10k each — for a total airfare bill of over $400k. Then, of course, there were the three military jets to round out the bill at just over $1.1 million dollars — not including all the Obama administration officials who went along: which numbered more than 60.

These are your tax dollar folks.
